About the Iron Kid of the Game
Skywalk Pharmacy’s Iron Kid of the Game was created to honor a different child for each Milwaukee Iron home football game that has gone through a tough time by surviving cancer or some other condition making them Iron Kids in anyone’s book.
About Jake Olson
Being from small-town Iowa, Jake Olson grew up knowing the importance of personal and honest service. Skywalk Pharmacy takes pride in maintaining a “hometown pharmacy” feel that helps families know that we care as much about their children’s well-being as they do.
“We want our patient’s parents to be confident and comfortable giving their children medication at home. We love getting to know our patients and their families.”
Jake Olson, owner and lead pharmacist at Skywalk Pharmacy, graduated from The University of Iowa in 1999 with a Doctor of Pharmacy Degree. He became interested in owning his own community pharmacy while completing the very first American Pharmaceutical Association (ASHP) accredited Community Pharmacy Practice Residency at Family PharmaCare Center with Purdue University. Jake just didn’t think the opportunity to own his own community pharmacy would arise so soon in his career. However, the blend of compounding services and the unique individualized patient care he was able to promise was exactly what Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin was looking for. In 2003, Skywalk Pharmacy opened and has become an integral part of Children’s Hospital.
